Jimmy Amu, popularly known as Dj Jimmy Jatt, shared his experience and what he feels about love and marriage. He believes Love is not enough reason to get entangled in a marriage. Read what he said below:
I am from a polygamous home. My parents had 10 children. My dad and his second wife were not compatible. I always tell people to look carefully before going into marriage. Love is not enough reason to get entangled in a marriage. You have to be sure that the two of you are medically compatible. You have to be sure you are not going to produce children who suffer from sickle cell anemia. Unfortunately, that is what happened between my dad and his second wife. All the children from that marriage did not survive.

I have seen how much the three of them struggled stay alive, but in vain. For me, it is a lesson and I always speak out just to let people know that you don’t take things for granted. Many people still think they will get lucky. People around here are fond of saying, ‘God will do it.’ Sometimes you need to face reality. For people like us that have experienced the trauma, we know what we are talking about.

AKWA IBOM GETS FIRST FEMALE DEPUTY GOVERNOR

The Akwa Ibom Chief Judge, Justice Idongesit Ntem-Isua, in Uyo, on Saturday swore in, Mrs.Valerie Ebe, as the first female Deputy Governor of the state.

Ebe took over from the former Deputy Governor, Mr. Nsima Ekere, who resigned his appointment on October 31.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Ebe’s nomination was confirmed by the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly on November 2, based on the letter sent to the house by Governor Godswill Akpabio.
 Akpabio said, “Although gender was not a consideration in the appointment, a section of the public would definitely see her as being at the vanguard of our faith for more women participation in government.

20-YEAR-OLD HOUSEBOY DEFILES EMPLOYERS 6-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER

A 20-year old houseboy working for the family of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dopemu at their residence in Surulere, Lagos has defiled his emloyers’ six-year-old daughter.
The houseboy, Obong Thompson reports say allegedly grabbed his boss’ six-year old daughter (name withheld) pulled off her clothes and had carnal knowledge of her while his bosses were at work.

According to reports, when Mr. and Mrs. Dopemu returned from work, they noticed their daughter’s unusual mood. They later discovered blood in her private part and quickly reported the matter to the police at Bode Thomas Divisional Headquarters. Thompson was arrested and investigated.

In his confessional statement, the suspect allegedly wrote: “When both of us were at home alone, I saw her body naked. I was charged and emotionally carried away.”
He was arraigned before a family court sitting at Tinubu, Lagos Island.

The court ordered that Thompson be remanded at Kirikiri prisons, Apapa, Lagos till the next hearing of the case on November 14.

3-YEAR-OLD PUPIL FOUND DEAD IN SCHOOL TOILET...

Imiefan Omokaro, a three-year old pupil of Kingdom Heritage Model School along Sapele road in Benin City, was on Thursday afternoon, found dead in the toilet of her school. She was said to have tumbled into a bucket half-filled with water.


A source disclosed that little Imiefan was found by a teacher in the toilet who immediately raised alarm and the girl was taken to the Winners Chapel Church, operators of the school, where pastors engaged in series of prayers to revive the girl.

Strange enough, at the close of school, when Imiefan’s mother came to pick her, the teacher said they were looking for her. The source added that it was not until two hours after Omokaro fell into the bucket that she was taken to a hospital where she was confirmed dead by the nurse on duty.


Father of the girl who gave his name as Omokaro Jolly, said he dropped his daughter at school hale and hearty and was surprised that the school authorities could not tell him what happened to his daughter.

He said his wife called him at about 3:45 to inform him that their daughter was missing and when he got to the school, he was asked to go to the hospital where he saw his child stone dead.
According to him, “When I dropped my daughter in school, she said I should come and pick her up so that I can buy her chocolate but I can’t see my daughter now.”

Imiefan’s class teacher and two nannies were arrested upon reporting the matter at the Etete Police Station.
”I can’t bring a baby to school and they expect me to collect a lifeless baby. It is their responsibility to tell me what happened to my baby”.
The wife, Mrs. Osarogue who was apparently worse hit by the mysterious death of her little child said amid tears, “I went to the school and asked where is my love. Nobody answered me. I asked the aunty, she told that my daughter went to the toilet.”

KOGI FLOOD VICTIMS 'INVADE' DELTA

HUNDREDS of victims of the flood disaster in Kogi State are reportedly trooping to Delta State, where they believe Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is more compassionate in the aftermath of the natural calamity.
Just two days ago, flood victims in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, besieged the streets, accusing the state government of abandoning them for over one week, in spite of huge funds and relief materials collected on their behalf.

The protesters, some of who wore overcast faces, a number dressed in threadbare dresses , others had their babies strapped behind them, alleged that government officials had diverted food items meant for them into private use.
Unknown to the Kogi flood victims, majority of the flood camps in Delta were in the process of winding up and the victims were already returning home to restart life.

Delta State Committee of Flood, headed by Justice Francis Tabai (rtd), ran into some of the victims from Kogi barely 24 hours after its inauguration. The committee members met the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, from Kogi pleading desperately with officials at the Illah camp, Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area, to allow them in, as they were hungry.

A source told Sunday Vanguard, “The committee noticed over 100 women and children fresh presumably IDPs locked outside the gate of the camp, as officials refused them in on the grounds that the camp was winding up and there were no relief materials for their upkeep”.
