Defender Bright Esieme has explained why he opted to join Enyimba over Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars.
The right-back sealed a one-year contract with the People's Elephant last month after leaving rival Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, ABS.
Esieme, who was nominated for the Rookie of the Year in the 2012 League Bloggers Awards (LBA), said his family raised concern about the insecurity in the northern part of the country.
He added that Enyimba are his hometown club and his "dream team" he has always wanted to play for.
"I've signed for Enyimba and it is a year contract. Yes Kano Pillars wanted me but my family didn't want me to go to the north because of security concerns. So my decision to join Enyimba is one influenced by my family and I'm happy about it. It has always been my dream team," said Esieme.
