CAF SHORTLISTS TWO GHANIANS
Two Ghanaians have been shortlisted by CAF for this years African Player of the Year awards. Andre Ayew of Marseille and Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu of Udinese have made the final list of 34 nominees for the 2012 top prize.
The list will be cut down, as usual, in the coming weeks before the final announcement of the winner for this year’s edition, which will held on December 20 in Accra, Ghana. Andre Ayew came just third behind Seydou Keita and eventual winner Yaya Toure. For Agyeman-Badu, this is his first such nomination.
Other big names in the hat include Didier Drogba, Rainford Kalaba, Stoppila Sunzu, Emmanuel Myuka and Christopher Katongo all from Zambia, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Also, four Ghanaian internationals made the 32-man list for the African Player of the year, for those only based in Africa. Emmanuel Clottey and new teammate Harrison Afful have been nominated in that section, while Al Ahly Shandy (Sudan) and Berekum Chelsea's Solomon Asante are also in there
